The Beginning
So I've started a blog of my own. My brother has one to record his adventures in Japan, but I am on my own adventure.
Firstly, I'll tell you about myself. I am a 25 year old single mother of a wonderful 4 year old girl. I am mostly from the Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida area. I graduated high school from Niceville High School in 1997 and joined the US Army that fall. I went for Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for basic and Fort Sam Houston, Texas for AIT (Advanced Individual Training). My MOS was 91R, Veterinary Food Inspection Specialist (or just food inspector). I was stated at Fort Carson, Colorado for my entire enlistment, although I did go TDY to Asheville, North Carolina for National Egg Quality School (NEQS, sponsored by the USDA) where I was certified to inspect shell eggs and I went TDY to Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas to cover the commissary (grocery store) at WSMR (White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico).
I had my daughter August 30, 2000. She is my own hero in that she saved me from traveling down a path of self-destruction. Her name is Jacey.
When I got out of the Army in 2001, I headed back home to Florida...where things were not as easy as I had thought they would be. I then entered the world of radio, starting off as a secretary and ending my career in October 2004 as a leading News Director. Short career, lots of fun and good times, and painful crash and burn (more on that later).
I have just relocated to Augusta, Georgia to start over. My daughter's father is here and the cost of living is much more affordable than in Florida. There are also more jobs opening here and the pay is much better than in Florida. Of course, gas prices are terrible everywhere...
That's all for now...I'll write more later.
